October 6-8, 2023 | Unity House - 50 Years of Unity Fall Weekend Celebration
During Fall Weekend 2023, students, families, friends, and alumni gathered together to kick off our 50th Anniversary of Unity House celebrations. This was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to honor the legacy of a historic place and presence on campus that has impacted so many in such a meaningful way! Programming included an exhibit on the 50 years of history; religious and cultural panel discussions; and open houses at both Unity House and the LGBTQIA+ Center. The weekend culminated with an evening reception featuring the premiere of the 50 Years of Unity House Video, vibrant student artwork, and dancing the night away to the beats from our alumni DJs, Frank Tuitt ’87 & Leo Bellamy ’89. The event opened with words from Nakia Hamlett, Interm Dean of Institutional Equity and Inclusion, who was joined by Ashley Cheeks '26 and Ronnie Venture '86 to express what Unity House represents past, present, and future.
